ITIC Conference Athens, Greece
Akta Medika attended an International travel insurance conference in Athens, Greece November 2 nd to 5 th, 2009. Our representative, the only Bulgarian there, met with leading European and American hospitals and medical insurances.
A cooperation with many companies is established and will lead to the expansion of the international department at the hospital, which will be in charge of coordinating the care and well being of foreign patients. In cooperation with Baptist Health and University of Miami, USA our hospital will serve as a center for the Balkans as a prescreening and preparing of patients to receive medical attention in the USA. Local doctors will specialize and exchange experience with American physicians. This cooperation will lead to implementing American guidelines and high quality medical care in the treatment of Bulgarian patients.
A very interesting cooperation is established with medical insurances in the field of the medical travel, so called medical tourism. There is interest in treating patients form Europe and USA at our clinic. This will be financially beneficial for the patients and insurances and the patient will receive high quality medical care in an European hospital without the need to go to the Far East or Latin America.
Akta Medika actively continues the process of accreditation with JCI and establishes partnership with Turkish hospital – Anadolu medical center, which already has passed the accreditation. A team of our hospital will visit Istanbul this month on a work seminar.
There are some interests of foreign investments in our new project – Akta Medika Sofia. Our team will follow up with them.
